"Perfect Picnic Spot"

6x6
This painting is truly "fresh off the easel".  Wiping paint off my hands, I'm desparately wanting winter to disappear.  This piece is all about spring.  Can you image throwing the blanket down, opening the picnic basket & toasting the day with a glass of wine?  If spring doesn't arrive in the next week or so,  I may have to shoot that groundhog!  Happy thoughts.

She ain't what she used to be

6x8
Intended to paint a still life today but woke up wanting to do a landscape.  Not my strong suit but I had taken a picture of this wreck of a house a few years ago and it spoke to me.  Yard overgrown, house in need of repair but you can image that it was once a beautiful home.  If you knew my life right now, you might find a bit of irony in this painting.  Let me know what you think.

Through the Trees

6x6    $95
Painting marsh scenes is always a favorite subject.  Starting to work on some new pieces for my Beaufort gallery & so to get in the mood, here's a small painting of the beautiful marsh view.

How I spent my Sunday morning

8x8  $95

Went to the kitchen this morning for breakfast & instead found my next still life subjects.  Quickly set up & got to the easel.  I love painting on raw linen because it allows the brushwork to stand out.  The photo doesn't quite capture the colors but what do you expect from someone who hasn't had coffee?

Celebrate my awesome taboret!

My new taboret was delivered yesterday.  One of my student's very clever & skilled husband made this for me.  Not only is he handy with tools but he does these great "roosters".  Check out his work at http://www.etsy.com/.  His work is listed under the great name of Roodoodles. Thanks Michael.  You Rock!!!!

In Honor of Sunshine

6x8 $95
This is one of the pieces that I painted over the weekend.  It's so nice to have sunshine with a forecast that doesn't include rain, sleet or snow.  Oops, I sound like the mailman.  Have a blessed day.

Pursuits

SOLD

6x4  $95 + $10 s/h

Keep a girl away from her easel for two weeks & watch out when she gets back to painting.  I painted 3 pieces yesterday.  I have so many ideas rattling around in my head it's a bit hard to focus.  A painting a day has been the rage for the past few years but I'm going for "paintings" a day. We'll see how long that lasts.  Happy Valentine's Day.

Seeing Red

It's been two weeks of me sitting on the sidelines trying to get over a horrible cold.  I'm on the mend & headed to the easel this morning.  I love red geraniums.  What fun to paint a warm, vibrant piece as I look out over the snow on the ground.  Enjoy the view.  If you are interested in this piece, you can email at kelleyart@gmail.com

In the meantime 11x14

Still fighting a cold & not back at the easel.  In the meantime, here's a marsh painting that I finished last week for an event in April.  Hope to be back at the easel this weekend.  A girl can hope!

Between Sneezes & Sun Pop

I've had a horrible cold for the past few days and haven't painted.  I had such high hopes to paint while stuck inside while it snowed.  Here's a little piece I did before the sniffles.  It's a view I see every morning as I head out.  I'm always looking for the sun popping thru the trees.  Enjoy!
