Getting out of the Weeds
"Table 4, More Wine"
6x6 Oil on museum quality panel
$95
Two glorious hours in the studio this morning. That might not sound like much but in comparsion to no studio time, I'll take it. Maybe the lack of easel time has me dying to spread my wings. Waiting to see what flies off the brush in the next few weeks. Happy weekend.

Everyone's Going Somewhere
"Lavender Fields, Forever"
7x5 $95
So many of my fellow
daily painters
have been painting French, Italian & Cape Cod scenes, I was starting to feel left out. So today, I packed my paints and headed to Provence (not literally). I can just image sitting under an umbrella at the edge of the field, the sun shining brightly, drinking a glass of wine & painting. What a beautiful thought, too bad, reality is it's September in the south, high humidity, it's raining and the bottle is empty. Oh, such a wonderful, brief escape. Where do you want to escape?

Crazy Life -NFS
"San Biago, Montepulciano"
6x6 oil on panel
$95
July was suppose to be my down time, to paint, relax, maybe read a book. Well, the joke is on me. It's been crazy. Evidently, I have to create my own serenity. So for my 100th posting, I painted myself a view of the ocean and today, it's one of my favorite views from Italy. The duomo, San Biago is in the Tuscan region of Italy outside a wonderful small town of Montepulciano. The view is magnificent and you look out across the vast landscape of Tuscany. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, go! I'm off for a walk around the city and to find a good glass of wine. Ciao.
