Perfect Pear - SOLD

6x6 $95 + $10 s/h

I'm back to playing with my food again.  Been off the still life for awhile so just doing some studies to get reacquainted.  Had to paint the pear today because I eat the cherries from yesterday.  I guess it's the "Risk/Reward" system.  Risk a painting, Reward with eating the subject matter.  Now I'm feeling like a trip to the Chocolate Shop.  We'll see.

Cherries Adored! - SOLD

6x6  $95 + $10 s/h

This is another piece from Monday's paintathon.  You might not know from my blog that I'm primarily a still life painter.  Where other artists get excited about the landscape, I get excited strolling through the produce aisle.  Late spring means that the farmer's market will be open and I just get "giddy".  My motto is "whatever floats your boat".  The Farmer's Market should be on alert, I'm headed there next week.  Green tomatoes watch out!

Marathon

Mountain Evening
6x6   $95 + $10 s/h

Just painted 6 small paintings today.  Head spinning, paint spattering and wet canvas everywhere!  I don't ever paint this many in one day but had a momentary thought that I needed a few different small pieces for the show this week.  No more listening to these conversations in my head.  I'll probably wake up in the morning and hate all of them.  The good news is that my light faded and I had to put the brushes down.  Sometimes God shows up just in time.

Happy Birthday & Keep the Margaritas Flowing!

6x6
It's my Uncle Bob's 80th birthday tomorrow. In his honor I've painted the view from his front porch.  It's one of my favorite places maybe because he has a wicked sense of humor and serves the best margaritas.  Haven't been able to see him as often lately but the memories of good times keep me going until I can get back to Tennessee.  Party hard Uncle Bob and keep a  margarita cold for me.

Challenge Complete, Artist Done

Sorry for the not great photo but here it is anyway.  Okay, I readily admit I'm not in Hopper's league.  It was hard to approach this painting with restraint in color, brushwork & not "prettying" it up.  I so wanted to add my brushstrokes and mix my colors.  But that's what challenges are for.  I want to "thank" Adelaide Simpson who challenged me to paint "Morning Light".  Your "reward" is coming.  Now it's time for Adelaide & anyone else to comment.
