A new day, a new season, a new way of life.....during this transition I wish you peace, joy, and rest....and bountiful opportunities to do what you do best.....paint magnificent works. Hugs, my friend!
You will never regret the time you gave to your mom. You are such a good soul, and you know now it is time to take her care to another level. We look forward to you having a BIT more time in front of your easel! Beautiful piece, you should put it in your mom's room because she can think about that stand of trees, and the beauty in front of, and behind them....
also, my word verification here today is: panti. Funny!
Kelley, Let your mind be eased knowing that someone with more qualifications will be helping both you and your mom. Embrace her and your work. My thoughts are with you both.
Bless you Kelly! What lucky parents you have to have you caring for them these last five years. Wish all the best for you and your parents during this transition! Another gorgeous painting. Love the purples in the distance behind the dark tree line.
Seems as though our universe's are a parallel - altho my mom and dad are OK on their own still, I visit often, as does my brother. Mom has been living with cancer for two years and today we found out there is more surgery needed this next week. I will be going there to be with them and support them where I can next week (300 miles away). Just as you - always ~ these OTHER decisions are in the back of my mind. May you forever remember your special time with them over this recent part of your life. In the meantime, you paint when you can. These times are more important.
Transitions are often difficult, but I know you will do it with the same grace and humor that you always show. I will look forward to more beautiful pieces like this when you are able...best to you all.
I made that transition 6-7 years ago and for us it has been fine. My mother has made new friends and our relationship has moved to a new level know that the stress of being the caregiver is gone.
Love this painting. It is very serene. In life, one never knows what is around the next corner, but we do what needs to be done and forge on. You are an amazing person to have given so much for your parents. After the transition, the next phase will probably be a very creative one for you!
Kelly, so glad you still have your mom and can make decisions that are best for her. I miss mine so much and think of things daily that I would like to share with her. This painting is so beautiful. I can't wait to meet you and take a workshop from you.
Kelley, you have stated and painted these feelings eloquently . Very best wishes to you and know that you are not alone in this. Find time to rest and take care of yourself when you can. Each step in this hard, and your Mom is so lucky to have you.
Kelley, I missed this one. It is a beautiful painting - right up my alley. I, too, am a part time caregiver for my mother. It is a job that takes you right back to when your children are very little. Unfortunately it doesn't come with the promise of a brighter future for them, at least on this earth with us. Good for you for taking on the challenge for as long as it worked. I am sure not only they are better for it but you as well.

Kelley, this lovely painting and its title are so symbolic for what you are going through. Best wishes to you as you navigate through your transition.

Hoping for a smooth transition for all. Know that you are not being replaced but assisted in caring for your loved ones.
