Easel Time for Me

"Reading in Bed"
12x16  NFS

Paintings delivered, shipped or picked up.  All commitments fulfilled.  What a relief!  Deadlines are necessary but I love to find a few hours at the studio to paint anything I want.  Haven't done any figurative pieces in awhile, so I dove in. Got to this point, decided to stop and live with this for a little bit.  Know I want to loose the pillow "squares" to the left,of the figure & define the book but not sure if I want to do much more.  A truly fulfilling day at the easel. I'll be back at the easel for some more "Little Gems" this week.

I really love this as is. I know the feeling of wanting to live with it for awhile tho. This picture just jumped off of my blog list. It has a Richard Schmid look. I actually quite like those squares too.

Love love love the girl reading - I like the "unfinished" and very loose structure of the brush stroke.

Kelley,
Love this entire piece just as it is. I am thinking someone, maybe Julie Hill, needs to say Stop and leave it be!? Really soft and sweet and you captured that moment. Very nice!

I love, love, love, love LOVE this. I think you should do more figures! And, OK, I didn't notice the pillow squares till you mentioned it. But now that you DID.... but other than that... do NOT do much at all!

You've got it girl. To so strongly say what you have to say with economy of stroke...wow. Need to see more of this Kelley.

Per Kathy's suggestion...this is Julie Hill saying "Stop and leave it be!" :)
