Saturday Outing

Painting for a show at the end of April.  This is one piece that will be included.  It's a 5x12. Finding a composition that works for this size is challenging. Feel it needs a few "tweaks". Want to play down play some areas of red so that other areas can sing.  I'll live with it for a week or so and then tackle the few changes that will allow me to call it finished.  Comments are welcome.

Love the vertical format and detail which is amazing for how small it is!
Sure the show will be a great success.

I will make one comment and one only. NO tweaks. It is just great the red drawas the eye to the centre and then gently lets them go. How I wish I painted so well.

Very nice. Great use of the space, and marvelous coloration. The only thing I might note (and please take this with a grain of sugar/salt!) is that the white highlighted alcove wall on the right is a bit wider at the top than the bottom, giving a very slight leaning appearance. The other verticals and horizontals throughout are all spot-on.

This is WONDERFUL, Kelley!!

I know what you mean about "living with it for a week"... but somehow I doubt you'll find much if anything that your mind tells you to change.
